Catching up!

Hi friends! School is in full swing and I love my group of firsties! I have 20 and we are off to a great start. I love how each year is so different! I admit I have not used my camera as much as I need to but here are a few shots from the past two weeks.

New Rug from Donor's Choose!

Which reminds me...I got a grant funded from Donor's Choose and we received a new rug and an awesome pencil sharpener! I am so grateful!!! I may be inspired to do another grant!

I finished ALL of my assessments and will soon be able to start small group work and differentiation. We are practicing reading to self and reading to someone. We will practice work on writing and word work this week.

Blog Hoppin'

This looks so fun! I will try my first Back to School Blog Hop! Since today is Monday (and boy, was it a LONG one!)...

I am running out of steam tonight, so I will do this quickly before bedtime!

1. I LOVE to laugh and will laugh at almost anything and extend that to my classroom!
2. I am NOT an animal person but I am not afraid of snakes.
3. It's 2014 and I still love to indulge in my soap operas!
4. I am a home grown NC southern gal and I LOVE the beach!
5. I am (was) a daddy's girl!
6. My daughter takes dance and loves it, but I have absolutely no rhythm!
7. I am a total neat freak, especially at home and yes, it is fun to me! :)
8. Target could be my second home.
9. I went on a cruise in 2011 with some old high school friends and had a blast!
10. I have been to two Nicholas Sparks movie sets and he is my favorite author.

In LOVE!

YIPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEE! I am so in love with this new blog design. I had been using a free template forever and I am planning to start blogging ALL.YEAR.LONG. so I know I will be much happier looking at this!!! A million thanks to Dreamlike Magic!!!  Now, for the next two days...I will be making my own planner and creating resources for back to school for TPT. Happy Hump Day!!

Sweet Summertime!

I have finally decided to start blogging and linking up with other teachers after about three, no two years!! I LOVE all the cute blog designs and am in need of a blog makeover, so that's what I may spend the next few days doing. I know, I should be reading, laying around, and going to the pool but I will fit it all in!! I will also post any great summer deals I find! OH! I finally linked up on Instagram with other teachers, too! YAY!

FOUR DAYS!

Four days left with my sweet little ones and then they are on to 2nd grade!! I got emotional today and wrote this poem for them:
