Goodies

I am planning to read these the first two days!

Borders, don't you just love them??

Basket I sprayed and decorated to hold my daughter's weekly papers.

Pinterest idea...to hold her stuffed animals!

                                                             Target One Spot Deals!!!

LONG OVERDUE!

I have been lazy, I mean a lady of leisure, as my sweet grandma used to say. I have been just enjoying summer with friends, family, and my sweet little 6 year old! I go back in 3 weeks so I am *trying* to start preparing myself. Today, I plan to work on creating some "Back to School" activities and sharing some pics. Hope you are enjoying summer as much as I am!

Beach time!

Heading to the beach, but just finished a Common Core Workshop and have many ideas in my head, so when I return I will start making items to go with the 1st grade CC. :)
Happy Friday!!!

Seahorse Art

I love Eric Carle books! We read "Mister Seahorse" and painted seahorses and then decorated them with tissue paper. Cute! The kids loved them!

This and That

Happy Weekend!! I've had a few comment on my title (yes, a lame attempt at fun from the "Fifty Shades of Grey" trilogy, which I have read!) but it goes a little deeper than that for me...I thought of all the things that encompass a classroom and a teacher and I don't even know if 40 shades cover it! Nonetheless, if you haven't read the books and my attempt at a little sarcasm  fun doesn't make sense, think of 40 wonderful shades of crayons!! What teacher doesn't love crayons?!?!? I am like a kid in a candy store when all the stores start having their back to school specials and yes, I do hoard up crayons! :P
I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!!! We have FOUR more school days with the kiddos next week and then our summer begins! I am planning to relax by the pool quite a bit with my cutie!

I am so excited to have created my first teaching blog! I have MANY that I frequent, so I decided to start my own. A little about me...I LOVE first grade and am so blessed to be a part of an awesome team at my school! They are truly amazing teammates and we work together very well. I am an avid reader, have a rising first grader and LOVE the beach! One of my main goals of this blog is to create Common Core material that can be used in first grade. I am starting to create some materials now and hope to post them soon. Please be patient as this as all new to me, so I hope to learn quite a bit about technology as I go along. :)
